Sweet, Lightly Creamy Red Velvet Cake


The Red Velvet Cake is an American cake really tasty and spectacular, which has the distinction of having its lovely bright red interiors that contrasts with the cream filling and cover made from a creamy white frosting. It is said that the recipe for this cake goes back at the beginning of 900, the United States, where it was served in The Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Initially, the red colour was given by a chemical reaction between the cocoa and buttermilk content in the dough. The red food colouring is now added to accentuate this effect. The Red Velvet Cake is one of the most popular in America and more popular in the world. Red velvet cake, being red inside, it seemed the most appropriate to represent love. Red Velvet Cake

Preparation time: 45 minutes ♥ Cooking time: 30 min ♥ Total Time: 1 hour 10 min ♥ Servings: 2


Ingredients:

250 g flour
250 ml of buttermilk
110 g butter
300 g sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vinegar
250 g cheese
350 ml whipping cream
1 tbsp food colouring
Heart-shaped sprinkles to decorate
Salt to taste


Recipe Method:

In a bowl, sift the flour together with a pinch of salt and set aside.

In another bowl, mix the milk with yogurt, food colouring and also put this aside.

In a bowl, work the butter into small pieces with the sugar until it is light and fluffy, add the eggs, one at a time, mix well before adding another and mix until smooth and creamy.

Incorporate cream, butter, alternating the flour and buttermilk.

In a small cup, combine the vinegar and baking soda, and then merge it quickly to the mixture, working it faster. Divide the batter between the two cake tins, level it and go in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.

Make the cakes cool, then pass them on a wire rack and let them cool completely.

In a bowl, work the cheese with the sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the whipped cream and mix gently until the icing will be smooth and homogeneous.

Cut each cake horizontally in half, put a base on a serving plate, spread a nice dose of stuffing it and proceed until complete smearing of the cream over the entire surface, above and around the cake.

With a heart-shaped cookie cutter carve many hearts and decorate the cake with red hearts and these hearts of sugar.

Allow Red velvet cake to stand in the fridge for at least 2 hours before you cut it into slices and serve.
