Trailer of Beyond The Clouds

In recent months, the film Beyond The Clouds has taken a tour of the festivals and has been very well received. It includes two awards at the Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey. And if the film has attracted the attention of Indian journalists, it's for two particular reasons. Majid Majidi and Ishaan Khatter. Indeed, Beyond The Clouds is directed by the Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi known for The Children of Heaven or the Color of Paradise.

The Children of Heaven was also nominated for Oscars in the category Best Foreign Film. He is an acclaimed international filmmaker who signs his first Indian film. But to this is added the presence of Ishaan Khattar, the young half-brother of Shahid Kapoor, who debuts on the screen. If the general public will certainly discover a little later in the year with Dhadak produced by Karan Johar, it is Beyond The Clouds that marks its first steps in the cinemas. It was noticed after it has already won a prize for Best Actor in a foreign festival. At his side, Malayalam actress Malavika Mohanan signs her first Hindi film. Here is the trailer:

Beyond The Clouds clearly announces itself as a pure independent film and does not seek to hide it. Realistic and aesthetically pleasing image, raw context and history that moves away from the glowing trails of the commercial Bollywood, we are facing a production in the right line of what Indian author's cinema knows best. All linked to the expertise of Majid Majidi and we are facing a project that we can expect a lot!

If the trailer does not tell us much about the story, we will appreciate a sublime direction and actors who seem extremely convincing. The music signed AR Rahman will not fail to mark the spirits, at once sweet, captivating and violent. If it appears much more like a "festival film" Beyond The Clouds remains a production that will have to be watched very closely and that could be one of the favorites of this year in terms of quality. The Indian release is scheduled for March 23. But it is unclear whether the film will have a wider international release thanks to the relative popularity of Majid Majidi.
